I mentioned in an earlier post that i was going to photograph kingfishers properly at some point this year, and with the help of Dave Scott (a very talented painter and photographer links below) I've finally been able to. Its also the first proper chance I've had at using my new Canon 1d Mark iii. Anyway I hope you like them.

ReplyDeleteOutstanding image,great photography.
ReplyDeleteWell done Greg.
John.
Hi Greg - the top image is the best. Exposure and composition are good. 2 and 3 are more tricky because of the excessive background light. Steve
ReplyDeleteCheers guys!
ReplyDeleteI agree with you Steve, most of the time he would land in the tree with the sky in the background rather than the stick we provided for him!
Thanks again,
Greg
Hi Greg, Great results well done. Knew Dave would sort you out! He's a top bloke.
ReplyDeleteWell done Greg. Cracking stuff again. There's at least 3 of us feel you breathing down our creative necks! Catch you in Brittany.

ReplyDeleteHi Greg, I was searching for Kingfishers and I came upon your blog! Well done. I really want to get out and capture them too but am unsure about the equipment I need to use. How far away where you when you took the pictures and what lenses and focal length did you use?
ReplyDeleteGreat blog!
